After the breathtaking incident at London Bridge and Borough Market, the security for the ICC Champions Trophy India versus Pakistan match has been increased substantially. Even though the game is being played for off from the expected spot of attack, the officials do not intend to take any chances since the game between the arch rivals would possibly pull a lot n of footfall.
As per reports, the boards of both the countries have been alarmed about a possibility of a threat to the ongoing event and suggested to have adequate security to ensure smooth flow off expected program.
Following the given suggestions the boards have decided to increase the security at this residence that is the hotels the players are staying. This might be a possible reason why team India's hotel-Hyatt Regency was lockdown on Saturday night ensuring no visitor inside the premises.
When questioned about this situation of hyper security a BCCI source quoted,
“There is nothing to worry about but since the intelligence units don’t want to take any risk after the Manchester attack last month, they have told the officials from both teams to not talk to the media about it because it may create panic. They don’t want to take any risk, however,”
