Tata Consultancy Services make a huge drop in applications for H1-B Visa as compared to 2005.
Recently Tata Consultancy Services applied for work visa which surprisingly was, one-third of the number of applications in 2005. This session was mainly based on hiring individuals from engineering campuses and B schools in US.
In the recent annual report, TCS EVP Human Resources Ajoy Mukherjee said"We have significantly ramped it (local hiring) up in the last couple of years, replicating many of the programs that have worked very well for us in India, such as partnering academic institutions and engaging with high school students,"
The change in America's political scenario causing the IT employees from India suffering heavy scrutiny and harsh visa norms in US. Ironically the country is a market for 60% of India's IT export.
The rise in difficulty of dependency on work visa and Indian employees blew into an unanticipated strategic change of hiring employees from US.The companies are thus shifting their focus on to the local hiring process to ensure regular workflow and adaptability to political problems and regulations.
